South Africa’s leading online retailer, Takealot, has officially relaunched its business-to-business (B2B) platform, Takealot for Business, aimed at streamlining procurement for companies of all sizes, from startups and SMMEs to large corporations.

The platform is designed to address the everyday operational challenges faced by South African businesses, including tight cash flow, resource constraints, and competitive market pressures. With this relaunch, Takealot is positioning itself as a one-stop procurement solution, offering a wide range of products and services tailored to business needs.

Key Features of Takealot for Business

Takealot for Business offers a user-friendly procurement experience with several value-added features:

    • 30-Day Interest-Free Business Accounts: Businesses can manage cash flow more effectively with flexible payment terms.
    • Exclusive Business Coupons and Rebates: Cost-saving incentives to support operational budgets.
    • Single-Supplier Convenience: Access to a broad catalogue of products—from IT equipment and office supplies to catering and cleaning products—through one supplier.
    • Digital Procurement Tools: A streamlined logistics and ordering system that reduces administrative burden.

Marlise Bosman, Head of Takealot for Business, stated:

We recognize that behind every purchasing decision is a person trying to get things done as quickly, efficiently, and stress-free as possible. This relaunch is our commitment to making their lives easier, allowing them to focus on their core business while we take care of the rest.

Part of a Broader Strategic Expansion

The relaunch of Takealot for Business is one of several initiatives under Takealot’s broader strategy to achieve profitability by 2026 and expand its footprint beyond traditional e-commerce.

    Recent developments include:

    Takealot Fulfilment Solutions (TFS)

A newly launched standalone business unit focused on international trade and logistics, TFS consolidates Takealot’s capabilities in:

    • Courier and on-demand delivery
    • Supply chain management
    • International freight and import/export services

This positions Takealot as a tech-driven fulfilment partner, enabling simplified global trade for South African businesses.

    Home Loan Hub

In partnership with MortgageMarket, Takealot now offers a home loan comparison platform. Customers can apply once and receive offers from multiple South African banks via a dedicated Takealot-branded web app.

“It’s like adding a home loan to your cart,” the company said, highlighting the ease of use and integration with its existing digital ecosystem.

    TakealotMORE Subscription Service

Takealot has also introduced TakealotMORE, a monthly subscription offering:

    • Unlimited free TakealotNOW deliveries
    • Free shipping on bulky items (e.g., appliances, furniture)
    • Free delivery for Mr D orders, including groceries from Pick n Pay at in-store prices
    • Exclusive coupons and deals

Takealot for Business customers are eligible for a 1-month free trial of TakealotMORE, adding further value to their procurement experience.
