Cairo-based startup Suplyd has successfully closed a $2 million pre-Series A funding round to accelerate the expansion of its digital procurement platform for restaurants. The company aims to move beyond simple distribution and build a full-stack infrastructure for Egypt’s $10 billion HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering) supply chain. The round was led by 4DX Ventures, Camel Ventures, and Plus VC, with participation from Seedstars and existing investors.
Founded in 2022, Suplyd set out to solve a persistent problem in the restaurant industry: unreliable suppliers, delayed deliveries, and lack of visibility in the supply chain. Its platform connects restaurants directly with suppliers, streamlining procurement and improving operational efficiency. Since raising a $1.6 million pre-seed round, Suplyd has experienced 20x growth and now serves over 5,000 restaurants across Egypt.
Over the past four years, we’ve built Suplyd into a critical part of Egypt’s restaurant ecosystem,” said Gohar Said, Founder and CEO of Suplyd. “That progress comes with greater responsibility, and even greater ambition. What started as a bold idea is now powering thousands of restaurants every day. We didn’t just witness the industry’s digital transformation—we helped lead it. And we’re just getting started.
The newly raised capital will be used to:
- Expand operations across Egypt
- Introduce new service verticals
- Develop advanced tools for backend restaurant operations
Suplyd’s platform already enables restaurants to order everything from ingredients to kitchen supplies through a single dashboard. It offers:
- Real-time analytics
- Inventory management
- Delivery tracking
- Cost and waste reduction tools
Peter Orth, Partner at 4DX Ventures, stated:
Suplyd’s digital procurement platform serves the long tail of restaurants that are often overlooked. Their early traction, strong supplier relationships, and diversified revenue streams reinforced our conviction.
Hasan Haider, Founder and Managing Partner at Plus VC, added:
Suplyd has become a key enabler in the digital transformation of Egypt’s F&B sector. Their strong traction over the past four years reflects the team’s deep market insight and operational excellence.
Suplyd is not just digitizing procurement—it is building the infrastructure for how restaurants operate, starting with the supply chain and expanding into every aspect that keeps a kitchen running.
