Super Mario Is Coming To The iPhone

Apple announced at their press event that Mario is coming to the iPhone! The game is called Super Mario Run. Cheers erupted as Miyamoto, who created Mario 35 years ago, took the stage at Apple’s Press Event in San Francisco

“I’m so happy to announce today he is coming to the App Store,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, as he introduced Miyamoto. “The father of Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto.”

Super Mario Run is a new side-scrolling runner game designed for iOS. The game offers three different game modes. The first offers challenging courses for you to complete, the second lets you challenge other people’s ghosts, and in the third you can create your own Mushroom Kingdom using coins collected from the other modes.

This is quite a surprising move by Apple and Nintendo, and if you enjoy iOS gaming and also a Mario fan, you’d love this game even more.

The game will be paid, so those looking for a freemium title will be disappointed. We could not be happier Nintendo chose the paid route. Pricing is unknown at this moment but Shigeru Miyamoto announced the game will land before the holidays.

iPhone users will also be getting a Mario sticker pack with iOS 10 on iMessage.
