Startup Weekend Lagos holds this week

By Paul Adepoju on November 16, 2015 Events, News, Startups

This year’s edition of Startup Weekend will hold from November 20th to November 22nd, 2015 at the iDEA Hub Lagos. Organisers have revealed 5 things to expect at this year’s edition.

    Startup to Company

Even though startups are early stage companies they still have the aura of temporariness about them — so let’s talk about how to return your startup to permanence.
Successful entrepreneur Collins Onuegbu of Signal Alliance and Sasware investment company will give a keynote address with the theme: “Startup to Company”.

    Top Coaches with Trench Experience

There’s nothing more valuable than candid and actionable feedback for a startup founder. You’ll be getting early feedback to set you on way from over 25 company founders who are still in the trenches.

    Tech Track

This is the one you’ll love the most. This is new but very important — if you are developer, perhaps you’ve done some cool stuff or you’re starting out on you career as a developer and aspire to be CTO or CDO someday this is for you.

We’ll be having a Tech Track that runs right through the event, 3 things to note:

    1. You’ll get a chance to participate in an invite only CTO Track programme by one of the fastest growing tech companies in Nigeria, Venture Garden Group.
    2. We’ll have a hands-on session on integrating Paga’s business payment gateway in mobile and web applications.
    3. Kehers will be talking about his new book: “Consuming REST APIs”.

Participate in the Next Web Conference Europe and win over $150,000 as part of the Global Startup Battle

Startup Weekend Lagos winners will automatically compete in the Global Startup battle for an opportunity to win cash prizes, a trip to The Next Web Conference and 1–2 hour weekly mentors programme from selected successful entrepreneurs from across the world.

    Meet people, find collaborators

50% of Startup Weekend participants come from a technical background and the other half from a business background and there will be a good sample size to find people with the necessary domain knowledge you need for a stellar team
