Starting from the 26th to the 30th of of September, stakeholders will gather together to support the growth of women in technology and leadership at the Women in Tech week. It is the first and largest Women in Tech event on the African continent. It includes curated user generated events with event partners across 40 countries with 400 events tracks bringing together 40,000 users onsite and virtually.
Dedicated to building platforms for women to venture into various fields of technology, the objective is basically to build potent and active awareness for women in the field or aspiring; encouraging them to achieve as much as possible in all things technology.
WITA 2016 is an event designed to accelerate capacity building in order to help female Africans to develop skills in entrepreneurship; improved employability and global competitiveness; beating a clear path through gendered knowledge to an obvious crucial career opening for girls and women with particular reference to technology.
Some important focal points will be Virtual Reality and Machine Learning, Getting cutting edge skills to Africa, Mobile education, Women in leadership: Strategies to survive in a male-driven culture, The impact of digital economy to Africa.
