Spotify and several iOS apps on Friday morning experienced crashes, a problem that persisted for about two hours, though the apps for Apple’s mobile operating system appear to be working again.
The other apps affected were Waze, Tinder, and Pintrest, according to social media reports.
Outage monitoring site Down detector noted spikes in reported problems with a handful of popular apps on Friday morning, including Spotify, Waze, Pinterest, and Viber.
The issue doesn’t appear to have impacted the Android version of the apps.
Spotify acknowledged the problem on Twitter. “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out! We’ll keep you posted,” the company tweeted. The streaming service gave the all-clear just after 6 a.m. PT.
It is unclear what exactly caused the outage but reports suggested it could be related to Facebook’s software development kit that manages things like logins, analytics, and ad integration.
None of the companies affected is yet to give a statement on the issue.
