Spotify is expanding how listeners engage with their music data by launching a new feature called Listening Stats — a weekly recap tool that gives users ongoing insight into their top songs, artists, and discoveries, long before the annual Wrapped arrives.
Until now, Spotify fans had limited visibility into their streaming habits, relying on third-party apps like Last.fm or waiting for the end of the year to access Spotify Wrapped. The new feature bridges that gap by offering regular, shareable updates on what users are listening to the most each week.
With Listening Stats, users can track their top artists, favorite songs, and new discoveries every week, along with special “milestones” such as a personal record or a major fan moment. Spotify is also introducing new sharing options that let users post their weekly stats directly to Instagram, WhatsApp, or within Spotify’s own in-app messaging system.
The Listening Stats page features a sleek new interface that not only displays weekly summaries but also allows users to generate a customized playlist — combining their most-played songs with recommendations tailored to their listening behavior.
The rollout, which is now underway in more than 60 countries, covers both free and premium Spotify users. Despite the new addition, Spotify has confirmed that it will continue to release its annual Wrapped campaign — a highly anticipated year-end event that has become a cultural phenomenon.
The Listening Stats feature marks Spotify’s latest effort to enhance personalization and engagement on its platform, giving users a continuous, data-driven way to connect with their music habits while maintaining the fun and anticipation of Wrapped.
