Spinlet, the makers of innovative, cloud-based music streaming and storage applications, has hired Neil Schwartman as its new CEO. He takes over from Eric Idiahi, who has rejoined Verod Capital.
Eric Idiahi joined Spinlet in 2010 from the private-equity firm, he co-founded in 2008, Verod Capital Management Ltd. Verod Capital is an investment firm focused on investing in attractive greenfield opportunities in Africa; who took note of Spinlet in 2010 and gave them their first round of financial backing.
Neil joined Spinlet from Naspers where he was the CEO, Sub Saharan Africa for MIH Internet (a Naspers company). He was responsible for strategy, implementation and management for all MIH e-commerce business in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
Neil brings on board his vast business experience working with Internet, digital media & distribution, e-commerce and mobile businesses in first world and emerging markets.
