You may not want to add another social media app to your life, but if you’re sick of Instagram and Snapchat, the new Spam App may be the perfect solution. We need social media apps in 2022. Keeping up with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and other sites may be a headache.
The way these social sites work can sometimes be social phobic. Almost all of them are focused on generating as many likes and shares as possible. This can be advantageous if people follow this pattern in building their personal brand or online identity. But it can ruin the experience for those who’re just seeking a platform to chat with friends and family. Again you’re reminded of the likes and comments you’ll get whenever you want to post pictures or videos of yourself.
Spam App claims to be different. Unlike other social media apps, the photo sharing social app strives to keep the experience as relaxed as possible. Spam App was released in October 2021, but went viral on Twitter and TikTok in February 2022.
According to the App’s Developer, “Spam App is authentic: no filters, no editing, no public likes, no previews, no neg, no judge. It’s a non-toxic social media app that works like an instant camera.” In a way, it works just like Snapchat which used to be a platform where you could share quick photos to other users. A lot of people can like your content after viewing it. Spam App claims it doesn’t have these features, which may be ideal for some users.

For now Spam App is only available to iPhone users.
- Go to the App Store, search for ‘Spam App’ and download it. For first timers, there’s a demo video that explains how to use the application.
- Create an account, following the instructions in the video.
- Next, grant Spam App some permissions, verifying your phone number, creating a login, and adding 1-4 friends to your ‘Spam List’.
After that, navigating the App is simple. To take a picture, tap the shutter button once (or several times to create a GIF). These pictures are immediately sent to your Spam List. You can also tap the ‘X’ button to cancel a photo or the paper airplane icon to share it straight up. To see your friends, tap ‘Spam List’ at the top of the screen. You may also ‘Add Friends’ to the list.
Everything else in the App is easy peasy. To view your profile, tap the profile icon at the bottom of the screen. There’s a message icon which you can use to view any notifications.
Spam App is just another social media app with a unique platform. There’s no pressure to want to post or share something that goes viral or that will generate 1M likes. You can only download it on Apple’s App store for now.
