Contactable, a South Africa-based integrated digital identity and eKYC platform, has raised US$13.5 million in growth funding to scale its operations across Africa and enhance its suite of onboarding and identity verification solutions. Contactable offers a unified platform that enables businesses to manage the full digital lifecycle of their customers, from onboarding and identity verification to fraud prevention and regulatory compliance. Its technology is designed to streamline customer journeys while ensuring secure and seamless digital interactions.

The funding round was led by Venture Capitalworks, with participation from Fireball Capital, Ke Nako Capital, and Mavovo. The capital injection will be used to deepen Contactable’s capabilities in areas such as Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) tracking, artificial intelligence, self-sovereign identity, and payments integration, all critical components of modern digital infrastructure.

Shaun Strydom, Contactable’s CEO and founder, expressed optimism about the company’s growth trajectory:

This investment is an exciting development for Contactable. It allows us to strengthen our platform and expand with our customers, while continuing to build the digital identity infrastructure that supports Africa’s growing digital economy.

He added that the partnership with Venture Capitalworks will enable Contactable to extend its reach into underserved markets and reinforce its commitment to delivering secure, trusted digital identity solutions across the continent.

Brent Shahim, Managing Partner at Venture Capitalworks, emphasized the strategic importance of digital identity in Africa’s economic development:

Digital identity is at the heart of financial inclusion and digital transformation. Our strategy is to partner with proven leaders like Shaun and his team, bringing, beyond capital, the operational commitment to accelerate their growth.

With this funding, Contactable is poised to play a central role in shaping Africa’s digital future, offering scalable identity solutions that empower businesses and unlock access to services for millions across the continent.
