Soumobroto Ganguly takes over as Cars45 CEO

By Staff Writer on September 28, 2020 Africa, Automobiles, Classifieds

Soumobroto Ganguly has taken over as Chief Executive Officer at Cars45 after the exit of the former co-founder and CEO, Etop Ikpe.

Ganguly joined Cars45 last year as Chief Business Officer before he was promoted to the new CEO role.

The entrepreneurial executive has twenty+ years of international experience in business development and marketing, finance and fund raising, and has worked at KPMG India. Before joing Cars45, he was the Deputy Managing Director of Genesis group Nigeria which has interests in fast food-QSR, food production, catering, cinemas, hotels and retail.

Former CEO Etop and eleven executives left the company quietly but Etop and some of the executives are joining rival, Autochek

Ganguly will now have the responsibility of competing with his former boss in the same Nigerian market.

Cars45 was founded in 2016 by Etop Ikpe, Iyamu Mohammed, Sujay Tyle, and Peter Lindholm. In 2017, the company raised a $5 million Series A round from the Frontier Cars Group, a holding company whose backers include Balderton Capital,  EchoVC, TPG Growth, and NEA.
