Sony Music Publishing has opened a new African office in Nigeria and appointed veteran creative executive, Godwin Tom as the Managing Director. He will be reporting to President, International Guy Henderson
Sony Music Publishing (formerly Sony/ATV Music Publishing) is the largest music publisher in the world, with over five million songs owned or administered as of end March 2021. It is part of the Sony Music Group, which is itself owned by Sony Entertainment.
With over twenty years of experience in music across Africa, Godwin will be saddled with the responsibility of promoting and supporting the company’s objectives across the region. Before the appointment, Godwin was CEO of talent management company iManage Africa, where he worked alongside top talent including Wizkid, Davido, Waje, MI, Wande Coal, Ice Prince, Bez, Show Dem Camp, Beverly Naya, Yung6ix, Jessy Jagz, Rooftop MCs, Solid Star, Ayo Jay, Ikon, and many others. Over the last few years, Godwin has also supported the development of future industry leaders through the Music Business Academy for Africa, an e-learning platform dedicated to training the next generation of music and entertainment professionals.
