Snapchat has announced the rolling out of the freshly rebuilt Snapchat app for Android which will reportedly be faster and include several bug fixes.
The rebuild has been in the mills since early last year (2018), aiming to bring the app’s Android version up to par with its iOS counterpart in terms of performance and features.
Some of the changes Android users can expect from the revamped app include; a reduction in the amount of time it takes to open the app, faster loading times on Lens and Stories, smoother swiping experience, and better image quality.
The changes will not affect the app’s User Interface.

Snapchat developers told Android Authority that their “ideal goal was that people shouldn’t really notice that the app is actually entirely changed up from underneath them except everything should be way faster.”
Snapchat promises to keep updating the Android version in future to keep it at par with the iOS version.
Jacob Andreou, Snapchat VP of product said, “With this new foundation I wouldn’t be surprised if you actually see things starting to come to Android even before iOS sometimes.”
