    SmartTeller and eFarms Win N1m Each at FCMB Tech Pitch Perfect

    The FCMB Tech Pitch Perfect final was held at Hub One. SmartTeller and eFarms emerged winners of the ePayment/eCollection and eSavings tracks thus taking home 1 million naira among other cash prizes. They beat 10 other startups to be named winners. The event, which drew a large number of attendees from the tech industry and beyond, kicked off with an opening speech and an introduction of the judges (Odunayo Eweniyi of PiggyVest, Segun Adeyemi of Pilot Partners, Abayomi Adebanjo of Jackson Ettiedu and George Ogbonnaya of FCMB), whose first task was being panellists in an interactive panel discussion on unlocking future potentials of tech-enabled businesses.

    Thereafter the pitches began, with LagosPay, a USSD-centred payment mobile app for mobile commerce and micro-payments going first and KoloPay, a target saving mobile/web app that helps people save money towards planned goals, ending the session. After deliberations by the judges, SmartTeller (e-Payment/e-Collection) and eFarms (e-Savings) and were named winners of the competition. They got ₦1 million each, free membership for a year at Hub One, ₦1 million worth of legal services from Jackson, Etti & Edu, the opportunity to work with FCMB, and other mouthwatering prizes.
