In celebration of its tenth anniversary of Skype video calling, the Microsoft-owned company has launched a new feature – free group video calling on mobile phones. Hitherto, this feature has been available for some years on the desktop, for both Mac and PC, but had yet to make its way to mobile.

Skype also mentioned that over the last decade this service has generated nearly 2 trillion minutes of free Skype video calls from over.
According to Gurdeep Pall in the company’s blog post, “Two trillion video minutes sounds like a lot – and it is. In fact, with that amount of time, you can use Skype to read to every child in the world for 10 hours, every family can be together over Skype for more than 7 hours and there’s still time left for the entire world’s workforce to have an hour-long interview via Skype.”
