Bits & Pretzels, the 3-day event for founders, startup enthusiasts, investors and business incubators taking place from September 25 – 27 2016 during Oktoberfest in Munich, introduces a special guest for this years’ event: Sir Richard Branson, successful British Entrepreneur and Virgin-Founder himself, will direct an appeal to the German startup scene. Branson will answer essential questions about how to build successful companies. The iconic entrepreneur will be on stage on the second day of the event (09/26/2016) at the International Congress Center in Munich. A press conference is scheduled after his one-hour speech.
Sir Richard Branson is best known for founding the popular Virgin brand. In 1970, he started with a small mail-order record business (the brand name “Virgin” arose because back then Branson considered himself virgin in business) and gradually founded other companies in different industrial sectors. One of his most well-known companies within the group: Virgin Atlantic, founded in 1984, is now one of the largest airlines in the world. As of today, Virgin Group contains over 60 Virgin businesses worldwide with more than 70,000 employees in 35 countries, making it one of the biggest business conglomerates worldwide.
Besides his function as founder of one of the biggest and most influential companies in the world, Sir Richard is always in search of the ultimate adrenaline kick as an extreme sportsman. Whether being the fastest to cross the Atlantic by ship or doing a round-the-world trip in a hot-air balloon, Branson always causes a sensation with his world record attempts. The billionaire lives on Necker Island, which is part of the British Virgin Islands. In 2017, the final of the Extreme Tech Challenge will take place there, which the winner of the Bits & Pretzels Startup-Pitch-Competition will also enter.
