Shago Payments Limited, a new fintech startup in Nigeria, has launched an e-commerce and bill payment platform to support the underserved, unbanked and merchants in rural communities.
According to Shago Payments, the new platform was designed to change the face of e-commerce in Nigeria, especially the rural areas, by introducing an online solution with functional capabilities of optimising the market experience of players in the selected segments.
Chief Executive Officer, Sabastine Enechi, said the mobile app offers stores, merchants, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with existing and verifiable businesses the opportunity of leveraging the Internet to sell their products and services to existing and prospective customers.
Enechi explained that the services include bill payment, collections, e-commerce, on-demand, software development as well as software as a service, adding that the payment service enables airtime and data recharge, electricity bill payment, cable television subscription among other services.
