Seedstars World is coming back to Nairobi!
The 10 best startups from Nairobi will be invited to pitch in front of an investment panel and compete to be crowned the most promising seed-stage startup of Seedstars Nairobi 2016. The winning startup will join the global Seedstars Family and take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits that include our tried and tested bootcamp and investor forum. It’s a catalytic platform for high growth emerging market startups.
In addition to seeing the top startups pitch, you can look forward to an event filled with disruptive tech, inspirational discussions, networking sessions and one flight ticket for the winner to come to Switzerland to compete for over $1mn in investment.
The selected startups are as follows:
- Lakt co has an app that provides mobile first financial services and literacy platform for the young;
- OptiSmart Solutions solves insurance fraud by providing an integrated web and mobile platform that facilitates real-time authorization of claims;
- Kuza provides a platform for new farmers to access on-demand farming courses, farming support and professional farm services to get started in farming;
- Ujuzi Software Solutions provide AML solutions for all segments of the market including banks, investment banks, forex bureaus and remittance providers;
- Flexpay Technologies offers a payment platform to aid customers purchase goods or paying for services via piecemeal payments, through mobile money;
- Mobilized Construction de-mechanizes road maintenance by mobilizing local labor to manually build climate resilient dirt roads;
- Farmers Pride provides micro franchise model of agro dealers;
- Olivine Technology are hybrid-cloud apps & synch technology networks SME manufacturers, distributors & retailers of FMCG, & automates their marketing activities;
- Student Finance Africa (SFA) provides affordable tuition loans for higher education to qualified students and parents across sub-Saharan Africa and
- iNuka Pap provides a mobile platform that allows subscribers to access free medical insurance just by saving and borrowing loans
