Today is World Food Day and Google Play-the store where you download android apps-has developed a robust plan to support the global fight against hunger.
How is Google Play doing this? It has joined forces with 12 developers of apps and games to donate proceeds to fight hunger. Google will donate 100 percent of proceeds from The Apps and Games Against Hunger collection in honour of World Food Day, which is dedicated to eliminating hunger.
Mobile app users and gamers will be able to fight global hunger from today. The goal of the program is to promote awareness and action for the 815 million people who go to bed on an empty stomach every day.
The World Food Day aims to alleviate hunger and ensure food security for all. Each app has an in-app purchase that is designated for World Food Day. Proceeds from those in-app purchases will be donated to the World Food Programme USA, which supports the mission of the UN World Food Programme.
Games have proven to be a good way for charities to raise awareness about their causes.
The participating apps and games are:
- ShareTheMeal – Help children,
- Peak – Brain Games & Training,
- Dragon City
- Cooking Fever
- Animation Throwdown: TQFC
- Legendary: Game of Heroes
- My Cafe: Recipes & Stories – World Cooking Game
- Transformers: Forged to Fight
- Rodeo Stampede: Sky Zoo Safari
- Jurassic World: The Game
- Marvel Contest of Champions

We hope some of these monies will come to Africa!
