Samsung has made the date of launch of the Galaxy S21 official. The company just confirming earlier rumors surrounding the date, the #SamsungUnpacked event takes place in just less than ten days (virtually, of course), January 14 at 16:00 CET (17:00 South Africa; 16:00 Nigeria), under the slogan ‘Welcome to the Everyday Epic’.

“Over the past year, mobile technology has taken center stage in everyday life as people are working remotely and spending more time at home. The accelerated transition to a mobile-first world brings with it the need for devices that can transform everyday life into an extraordinary experience.”
The teaser for the event shows a triple camera inside a frosted cube – this is designed for the new camera module on the Galaxy S21 series.
Come January 14, it’s clear that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. There’s a strong probability that Samsung will also unveil the Galaxy Buds Pro truly-wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation, as well as the Galaxy SmartTag Bluetooth object tracker – a direct competitor to the popular Tile trackers and a getting a head start on Apple’s AirTags.
Galaxy S21 Ultra is the heir to Samsung’s flagship crown. It will provide a number of improvements over the Galaxy S20 Ultra, such as a screen with variable refresh rate (up to 120Hz) and QHD + resolution, a new 10x periscope camera, another 3x telephoto sensor, new and improved 108MP sensor and S Pen support.
Galaxy S21 and S21 + will be similar to their predecessors with largely unchanged triple cameras, slightly larger batteries and new, faster processors. Unlike last year’s Galaxy S20 series, only the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a curved, QHD + screen and a glass back panel, while the Galaxy S21 / S21 + has flat 1080p screens without variable refresh rate (so either 60Hz or 120Hz) , and plastic behind panels.
Just like the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 11 which became the first Snapdragon 888 phone in the world, all three devices will use a Snapdragon 888 processor in the US and Korea and the Exynos 2100 everywhere else.
