Samsung has confirmed it will integrate Google Photos into its smart TVs in 2026, allowing users to enjoy their photo and video libraries on the big screen without relying on casting or sideloading apps.
Until now, Google Photos users had to mirror their devices or use workarounds to display content on their TVs. With this integration, Samsung TV owners will be able to view curated memories directly through the Memories feature. For the first six months, this feature will remain exclusive to Samsung devices. Users will need to sign in with their Google account to access their synced photos and videos seamlessly.
Beyond basic viewing, Samsung plans to leverage AI-powered features in this experience. The integration will include Nano Banana-powered templates, AI-driven image generation and editing, and the Remix feature, which allows users to transform existing photos into new styles. These features aim to make it easier for users to personalize and relive their memories in creative ways.
“Google Photos is a home for people’s photos and videos, helping them organize and bring their memories to life. We’re excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs — helping people enjoy their favorite photos on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, vice president of Google Photos and Google One.
This development reflects broader trends in smart home entertainment, where AI, cloud services, and large-screen displays converge to deliver richer experiences. By integrating Google Photos, Samsung is not only enhancing its ecosystem but also positioning its TVs as a hub for both entertainment and personal media, bridging the gap between mobile and home viewing.
Industry analysts say the move could increase adoption of Samsung’s TVs among users already invested in Google’s ecosystem, offering an edge in the competitive smart TV market. It also underscores how technology companies are increasingly turning large-screen devices into personalized media centers, powered by cloud storage and AI.
As Google Photos continues to evolve with AI and creative tools, Samsung users will likely see more ways to curate, edit, and share memories directly from their TVs, making it a more interactive and immersive experience than traditional photo viewing.
