I am not a fan of Samsung when it comes to either laptops, tablets or mobile devices save for electronics. But when I was asked to do a review on the new Samsung tablet PC, I took this as an opportunity.
Looking into the world of gadget and electronic devices, Samsung is definitely not a small player as they have being around for a very long time I would say. Samsung had a great 2010, producing a series of highly impressive machines. But it got a little left behind in the ultraportable stakes. Here to rectify this, is the long-awaited Samsung 900XSA review – otherwise known as the Samsung 9 Series. Boasting a gorgeous design and excellent power courtesy of an Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 processor, portability is king here. Its Powered by the Intel® Core™ i5-2537M Processor and running the Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium operating system, the Samsung Series 9 13.3″ Laptop is fast, efficient, and absolutely stunning. This lightweight laptop packs a 128GB SSD instead of a hard drive, and also boasts 4GB of RAM.
The Samsung Series 9 13.3″ Laptop is fashioned from Duralumin, a material more commonly used in the aerospace industry. Twice as strong as common aluminium alloys, yet almost as lightweight, Duralumin’s properties enabled Samsung engineers to create a 1.35 kg wonder machine just 16.3 mm thick!
But the beauty of the Samsung Series 9 13.3″ Laptop goes more than skin deep. For example, the 13.3-inch widescreen display features ultra-bright 400-nit LED backlighting, making it possible to see the display in sunlight. And Samsung has equipped this ultra-mobile laptop with a backlit keyboard and a large multi-touch clickpad for style and comfort.
Despite its light weight, the Samsung Series 9 13.3″ Laptop features a six-cell Li-Po battery that powers the notebook for up to 7 hours. Discover truly mobile computing with this brilliant laptop!
Its size in dimension comes to 328.5 x 227 x 15.9-16.3 mm (W x D x H)
A brilliant gadget like this would definitely not come with its cons. The major concernt to me is the price amongs other things like lo screen resolution, can’t be used as HD, wifi reception is poor, no strain relief power connector, no default vga adaptor, just to mention a few as expirenced by those who have already purchased it. As for the price, shopping around i have found that to acquire this gadget you must be willing to part with nothing less than NGN250,000 in Nigeria and if in the United Kingdom, nothing less than £1,099.99. Am sure that’s not necessarily a place you would want to be without good reason. This price might speak of all the technology used in building the Samsung Series 9 but its an outrageous price compared to other tablets in the market.
In terms of looks, the Samsung series 9 is absolutely fantastic. A subtly brushed aluminium finish gives the laptop a truly high-end look and feel and, although it does attract fingerprints, dust and dirt don’t stick to the surface at all. This means that you won’t spend the whole time polishing the laptop in a bid to keep it looking smart.
However, looking at the generality of the features, e.g speed, weight, battery life, look and feel etc, you are definitely in for a good ride. If you are considering purchasing the device, you can read reviews of people who already acquired this gadget by clicking here
