When it comes to wearables, Moto 360’s been doing quite fine and is at least the most popular Android Smart-watch out there among wearables enthusiast.
When Smart-watches became a thing, they were squared up and let’s be honest, they were ugly but Moto 360 made the round smart-watch design a thing and now it’s a trend, it’s not like the design will necessarily improve the experience but c’mon, it looks way cooler than the square ones and that’s kind of a big deal to smart-watch fans out there.
Now, Samsung has noticed that trend, and wants to build a round smart-watch of its own. The difference is, it’ll run Tizen, not Android. A few months back, a Samsung patent suggested the company was definitely working on a round smart-watch, and a recent patent filed by the company detailed a neat ring-operated smart-watch design.
According to SamMobile, Samsung is already developing a rounded smart-watch, codenamed “Orbis”. Though the company has got loads of smart-watches on the market already but they’re not quite as elegant as the Moto 360 or the oother round Smart-watches but it’s unfortunate that SamMobile doesn’t provide too much details on the device, other than “it’ll sport a rounded look.”
The good news is, Orbis will reportedly show up at Mobile World Congress in Marc which is also the same month Apple will allegedly release the Apple Watch…. so we’re not that far away to see what the company has got.
