Fresh off launching the Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+, Samsung has launched the first 5G smartphone in its A series – the Galaxy A90 5G. Though it is the first in the A series, it is the fourth 5G phone after the Galaxy S10 5G, Galaxy Note10 5G, and Galaxy Note10+ 5G.
The Samsung A90 5G is the first support DeX in the lineup. Samsung DeX allows users to connect their phone to a PC monitor or TV to expand the phone’s experience to a bigger screen.
The Samsung Galaxy A series is a line of mid-range smartphones manufactured by the South Korean electronics giant.
The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G sports a 6.7″ FHD Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a fingerprint reader embedded in it and a cut-out at the top for the 32MP selfie camera. The rear has a triple camera setup comprising of 48MP f/2.0 main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, and 5MP depth sensor units. The rear camera also comes with Super Steady, Scene Optimizer and Flaw detector features while the front camera has a Live Focus Mode.
It measures 164.8×76.4×8.4mm and weighs 206 grams and the processor is Octa Core (2.84GHz + 2.42GHz + 1.8GHz)
Powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with 6GB or 8GB RAM, it runs Android Pie and has 128GB of storage. The 6GB RAM variant also comes with a microSD card slot, allowing storage expansion by up to 512GB.
It has a 4,500 mAh with 25W fast charging support and is available in black and white colours.
The phone will go on sale in South Korea on the 4th of September and will roll out to other markets very soon. No price has been given yet.
