The Galaxy Mega makes use of an LCD qHD (960 x 540), dual-core processor 1.4 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, 2600 mAh battery and high-speed 3G connection. The device is powered by the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and it features an 8-megapixel rear camera, as well as a 2-megapixel front facing camera. It also comes with 8GB internal memory and up to 64GB expandable storage. The Galaxy Mega also boasts of Samsungs proprietary Air View feature, which lets users preview photos, speed dial contacts and information in e-mails, without opening them.
The device was unveiled to customers on Tuesday 9th of July 2013 at the Protea Hotel Ikeja that was attended by Samsung brand ambassadors, Kate Henshaw, Banky W and Ali Nuhu
Samsung also debuted two new models from its Wi-Fi-enabled Galaxy Tab 3 portfolio the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, at the event.
Samsung is offering users of the Samsung Galaxy Mega smartphone and Tab 3 Series free subscription to Tell Magazine, The Guardian, Punch and Businessday newspapers. In addition to these, Samsungs Class Connect App, DoBox movie download app and Spinlet Music App will also be available to users of the three devices.
