Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has launched the ‘I See Your Dreams’ campaign to engage fans and help the youth in pursuing soccer in Africa during the Orange Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Equatorial Guinea 2015, which will be held from the 17th January to 8th February 2015.
As an official sponsor of the competition since 2008, Samsung will take a leading role in not only sponsoring the tournament but also reaching out to the community in giving them an opportunity to experience soccer the Samsung way.
In a statement made available to Innovation Village, Samsung said with the campaign, it aims to inspire the youth and the people of Africa by connecting them with renowned players and bringing opportunities to make their football dreams come true.
Under the theme ‘ I See Your Dreams’, Samsung has also partnered with local soccer heroes such as, Kennedy Mweene from Zambia and Andre Ayew from Ghana who are recognized for their individual commitment to the sport and have worked hard to make their own dreams come true. The campaign will create excitement through engagement with football fans around Africa with a focus on Zambia and Ghana, whose teams have qualified for the tournament.
Samsung has also planned to implement a program called ‘Dream Maker’ CSR initiatives which is in line with the company’s commitment to the youth and sports. The program will kick off with a ‘School Donation’ campaign that will be taking place from the 15th to the 16th of January 2015 at selected schools in Zambia and Ghana. Samsung will be donating football infrastructure to the schools such as training equipment and football gear for the students. The ‘Dream Maker’ campaign will end off with a ‘Dream Camp’ where the youth will share their experiences and motivate the youth to continue dreaming and never give up.
The campaign will also feature retail activations at selected brand stores where customers will have the opportunity to meet their local soccer heroes and take part in wishing national team’s victory in the Orange AFCON 2015 with Samsung.
