The release date for the Samsung Galaxy S8 has been tipped to appear at a special event in Barcelona this February. The timing of the release of the smartphone – or smartphones – won’t likely also be in February, but the first hype video and release date has been rumored to be appearing during Samsung’s MWC appearance. That same event will likely play host to the company’s newest tablet, one that’s been tipped to fill part of the temporary void left by the recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The Samsung Galaxy S8’s appearance at Mobile World Congress 2017 will be brief. So said Koh Dong-jin, president of mobile communications at Samsung. Dong-jin was also suggested to be meeting with press immediately following the unveiling – or teaser of an unveiling – of the Galaxy S8 near the end of this month. At that time, I can pretty safely assume that case-makers will already be hard at work.
The Samsung press event for Mobile World Congress 2017 is set for February 26th, 2017. At that event we’ll expect several lesser devices – wearables, perhaps – and a high-end tablet.
Rumors also suggest that the teaser video for the Galaxy S8 – at that MWC 2017 event – will show the Galaxy S8 event scheduling. It’s been suggested that the big Galaxy S8 New York City-stationed event will take place on March 29th. A little less than a month later on April 21st, the release of the Samsung Galaxy S8 might well take place.
