Samsung indeed continues to keep the tech industry on its toes with its relentless innovation and frequent launches. The Korean tech giant is primed to reveal its next-generation flagship Galaxy S24 smartphones, boasting new AI-powered features, on January 17. The event is slated to occur at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, and will also be broadcast live on Samsung’s social media platforms and on YouTube.
While the company hasn’t explicitly referenced the Galaxy S24 series in its press invitations, it has teased the unveiling of a range of premium smartphones designed to offer ‘the most intelligent mobile experience yet’. Leaks and reports hint that the new Galaxy S24 lineup will showcase a titanium constructed Galaxy S24 Ultra, a refreshed design featuring sharper edges, alongside routine enhancements to the processor and camera.
The upcoming series is projected to offer four distinct models, each boasting varying screen sizes. Samsung’s recent reveal of its proprietary generative AI model, Gauss, indicates that the Galaxy S24 series will be the first from the company to incorporate AI capabilities.
These innovative devices are likely to be energized by Qualcomm’s premier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and Samsung’s latest Exynos 2400 processor, both of which support sophisticated AI features.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Galaxy S24 will be launched in India with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the Exynos 2400 processor. Typically, Samsung releases its newest Galaxy S series in February, which makes the early introduction of the Galaxy S24 notable, potentially as a strategy to counter plateauing sales.
As consumers in major markets like the US and Europe are holding onto their current smartphones due to the lack of significant upgrades, India is witnessing a trend of upgrading to top-tier smartphones. Industry experts posit that the emphasis on generative artificial intelligence could stimulate smartphone sales.
