Motorcycle ride-hailing service SafeBoda, has now signed 3000 riders on its platform in Nairobi since its launch in 2018.
In turn, it has slashed prices by 40% in a bid to attract more users.
SafeBoda has partnered with Watu Credit and Transsion to offer riders loans to acquire motorcycles and smartphones.
The firm announced, “Think of all the things that one could do if they had the freedom to move whenever they wanted, safely, conveniently and more importantly, now very affordably. With prices slashed by over 40% you can now get around Nairobi with SafeBoda for as little as 60 bob!!”
Nairobi residents spend on 4 hours daily, on average, in traffic. This is only bound to rise with the city’s rising population.
SafeBoda aims to abate the traffic problems with its 3000 riders in the city.
It has provided a safer and customer centric bodaboda (motorcycle taxi) service. All its riders are trained before being signed up.

SafeBoda has partnered Turaco, Watu Credit, Allianz, and D.Light, among others to offer the growing community a number of welfare-enhancing products.
SafeBoda founded in 2015, in Uganda, is one of the fastest growing ride-hailing services in East Africa, with a user-base of over 300,000 each month in Kenya and Uganda.
