Safaricom has teased a refreshed logo for its mobile money service, M-Pesa.

On Monday, October 7th, the telco giant posted a photo which contained four variations of the logo (pictured).

It however did not point out which logo has been selected.

All four logos maintain the classic red and green colors. All the logos have eliminated the feature phone that previously separated the ‘m’ and the ‘pesa’ sections. All versions have a different font as well.

The new logos were met with praise and criticism in equal measure by netizens.

Some users questioned whether the redesign comes with new features in the service.

Safaricom launched the star mobile money service in early 2007.

M-PESA has since become an integral part of the Kenyan economy, with over 22.6 million active customers, served by 167,000 M-PESA Agent outlets countrywide.
