SA Security Startup AURA Launches World’s First WhatsApp Security Chatbot

South African security startup and medical response platform, AURA, in partnership with Tracker, has launched the world’s first WhatsApp security chatbot. The new and innovative service will allow South Africans to request immediate mobile armed response assistance by sharing their location pin on WhatsApp. So the new offering is powered by both the experts and technology of AURA and Tracker’s unique Tracker CareGuard service.

How does it work?

The new service is connected to AURA’s countrywide network that is comprised of 1500 armed responders. Through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the AURA-backed Tracker CareGuard solution ensures that the closest responders are dispatched to a distress call.

The service can be tested by saving 0861 222 781 as a WhatsApp contact on their mobile device and typing ‘Hi’ in the chat to initiate a demonstration. Myers explains that by tapping into a widely used instant messaging platform, the service can be provided to all South Africans and create an inclusive security landscape.
