After one year JUMIA Egypt has achieved a double digit growth on a monthly basis to reach a 35-40% market share in e-commerce. The company moved from two small offices in Maadi area to a 3-floor building with warehouse over a space of 1600 m² in “New Cairo” area. According to Euromonitor, Egyptian consumers’ online transactions are expected to more than triple by 2016. Despite the overall penetration rate of e-commerce (3.4%) for the Egyptian population, spending online is going to reach up to US$ 447.3 million.
