Helpling, the most widely-available online platform for on-demand home services, has secured US$ 17M in Series A funding. The group of investors includes among others Mangrove Capital Partners, Phenomen Ventures, as well as Point Nine Capital and Lukasz Gadowski.

The investment follows the company’s rapid expansion throughout Europe and beyond. Helpling first started its service in Berlin on 29th of March 2014. Today, just half a year later, it is available in more than 150 cities in 8 countries across Europe and Latin America.

Benedikt Franke, Co-founder of Helpling: “The funding is an important milestone on our journey to building the leading brand for home services. We are already the most widely available cleaning platform and the investment will help us to expand our business further. We will continue to focus on creating the best experience for all of our users.”

Hans-Jürgen Schmitz, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Mangrove Capital Partners: “Helpling is built on an attractive business model and has developed a market-leading service in eight countries within the space of just eight months. The company’s scale and achievements are highly impressive. We are very excited to be part of this dynamic success story.”

Need a cleaner? No more searching and decision making

Helpling makes it easier and faster than ever before to book a professional cleaner – something that has previously often involved a lengthy journey, quests through circles of friends, browsing classifieds or contacting agencies. Users of the app or the website simply type in their address, the number of rooms and select a convenient date. A specially-designed algorithm then finds the perfect cleaner.

Philip Huffmann, Co-founder of Helpling: “Home Cleaning used to be for a relatively niche audience. Adding flexibility, convenience and security at competitive prices enables more people than ever to benefit from these services. We want to give people more free time and an ever more enjoyable experience at home.”
