Now it seems that Rocket Internet is now ready to battle Nasper’s OLX and eBay’s Gumtree in the Online Classifieds space in Africa with the launch of Vendito.
According to reports, Vendito is already live as Vendito.com, and in Senegal at Vendito.sn, in Uganda at Vendito.co.ug and Vendito.co.tz in Tanzania. Vendito is a free classified ads website where you can buy and sell almost anything and it’s 100% free!
Rocket Internet entered the African Space via ecommerce entities like Jumia, Kaymu, Jovago, Hellofood, EasyTaxi and many more; obviously avoiding the areas that had clear leaders like Online Classifieds and Jobs. Now having strategically positioned itself as a force to be reckoned with in the African landscape, it feels it can now take on the likes of Naspers OLX, eBay’s Gumtree and Junkmail in the Online Classifieds space. It recently also launched Everjobs to play in the Jobs, Careers space too.
A Rocket Internet’s Online Classifieds entity currently operates in Myanmar, Asia, under the name of Ads.com.mm
