Luxury Swiss watch brand, Richard Mille has announced its partnership with luxury sports car brand Aston Martin to deliver a new collection of Richard Mille watches that bare the iconic Aston Martin wings and other design aesthetics representative of the luxury carmaker. The partnership will see Richard Mille and his skilled group of developers and watchmakers work directly with the design team at Aston Martin led by Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer. Richard Mille and Aston Martin are known to offer genuine handcrafted luxury products. Each of the components that make up a Richard Mille watch is designed, machined and assembled entirely by hand in the Jura Canton, the watch valley of Switzerland while Aston Martin’s sports cars are designed, engineered and handcrafted at the British brand’s headquarters at Gaydon in the UK.
“We are passionate about the world of luxury sports cars, it has always been a personal interest of mine and Aston Martin is the perfect partner for us. The spirit of embracing mechanical challenges forms an integral part of both watches and cutting edge automotive design.” Richard Mille CEO said commenting on the partnership.
Richard Mille is a brand of luxury Swiss watches from the company of the same name founded in 1999 by French businessman Richard Mille. The brand’s most famous models are the Tourbillon RM 008 (chronograph tourbillon) and the sapphire split seconds (chronograph tourbillon) RM 056. The RM 008 combines a tourbillon movement with manual winding, a chronograph split-seconds, a torque indicator, and a power reserve indicator. Claimed to be one of the most advanced watches in the world, it is priced from 500,000 Euro. The RM 056 split seconds (chronograph tourbillon) is distinguished by its three-part all-sapphire skeletal case. The RM 056 is completely see-through and is the first watch case to be completely built from sapphire, with a limited edition 5 pieces of the Richard Mille RM 056 Felipe Massa Sapphire priced at US$1.7 million. The RM 056 was declared best watch of 2012 at the ‘Salon Internacional de Alta Relojería’ watchmakers’ exhibition in Mexico City in October 2012
In addition, Richard Mille will be supporting the Aston Martin Racing team in the FIA World Endurance Championship, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Nürburgring 24 Hours.
