Nigeria’s leading ecommerce platforms Jumia and Konga have both announced they are now offering the new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge.
In a statement, Jonathan Doerr, MD Jumia Marketing, said, ‘’Just as the name implies, most of the phones from the Galaxy series have been absolutely out of this world! We are extremely delighted to have this phone available to the public and I would like to use this medium to state that we also offer express delivery on Jumia for customers who cannot wait to get their hands on this prized possession’.
“Be the first to get either the Samsung S6 Duos or the S6 Edge. You will not only be getting a phone which has all the right curves in all the right places, you also would be getting 2015MB data instantly and 100% data bonus from MTN.”
Innovation Village gathered the company is selling the S6 edge for NGN180,000 which is also the price at which closest competitor Konga.com is also selling the new gadget.
In a newsletter sent to subscribers and gotten by Innovation Village, Konga said: “The iconic metal silhouette and ultra slim bezel of the Galaxy S6 creates a sophisticated profile. Inside is the fastest, most powerful processor ever to be put in a Samsung smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge completely redefines design. The dual Edge screen enhances the user experience, offering fluid, uninterrupted access to information and real-time alerts.”
While both companies are selling the device at same price, the differences are with the additional offers.
Innovation Village gathered on Jumia the company is partnering with MTN to offer customers 2015MB for 1 month, 100% data bonus on 260MB and above for 6 months and free wireless charger worth NGn8,000 for the first 2,000 orders.
Konga on the other hand is partnering with Etisalat to offer those that order the world’s first phone with dual curved edge display with free 1.5GB data on activation. Buyers also get free wireless charger.
This largely means choosing whether to buy the device from MTN or Etisalat would be largely determined by which network the buyer is using.
