The Hot 2 was co-created with Google—this saw the Hot 2 running Android one. Google will only partner with a company that produces quality phones that delivers sweet experience to users and Infinix was chosen as the flag bearer in Nigeria. Hot 2 came with 1 GB of RAM and 2 GB RAM model.
The Infinix Hot 3
Infinix has just launched the Hot 3. I have a few questions in my mind as I push the Hot 3 through use and prepare my full review. Will the camera deliver? How long will the 3000 mAh battery last on a single charge? Will the Selfie Camera deliver as promised?
This unit was provided by Infinix for review and I got the one with grey back. I wanted to hate this phone, but I could not. Infinix Hot Range of smartphone from Inifinx debuted a while now and this is the third iteration.
The Hot range is making smartphone available to consumers at very low price point while delivering superb experience. Jumia Nigeria is listing the Hot 3 as N26,500
What do you get with the Hot 3?
Users of the Hot 2 where welcomed with an unfamiliar environment. The Hot 2 running Android One—Google’s version of Android—does not have the usual pre-installed apps like WhatsApp, Opera Mini and the like and the phone was just bare.
But with the Hot 3, Nigerian user will get a familiar user environment as Infinix is back to using XUI with all the usual pre-installed apps and other wide array of X-apps from Infinix.
Pre-installed apps: The apps that are pre-installed are: X Club, X contact Twitter, BBM, Facebook, WhatsApp and a host of other apps. You don’t need to use your data to download basic apps you need. Even Google Chrome is pre-installed too.
The spec sheet is a little different from Hot 2. How? See the picture below
The Hot 3 has bigger battery, uses XUI and not Android One, Camera Voice Control is present, 5.5 inch full HD lamination, Dual Mic cancelling noise which should make voice calls a lot clearer when you are on the phone and front facing soft flash
First thoughts
I am in my first 24 hours with the phone and I find that I am always picking the phone up other than my iPhone 6s Plus.
If I was thinking of getting a phone for a 16-year-old teenage, a middle aged senior Nigerian citizen or a young professional who doesn’t want to break the bank, this phone is super ideal.
Battery doesn’t drain as fast as on other Android phones—appears as if XUI has been optimized to make Android less power and data guzzling.
The back of the phone doesn’t get dirty easily and doesn’t attract finger print when a user with sweaty palms like me is using it.
I am looking forward to really using this phone and coming back with my full review. For now, enjoy the pictures of the phone and the specs.
