Registration is currently on for the Bayelsa Ignition week scheduled to hold from Thursday, March 1st to Saturday 3rd, 2018 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa.
Bayelsa Ignition Week 2018 is a Boot-camp event to kick-start the Bayelsa technology Forum and will focus on software/mobile application competition designed to foster interest among young people in software engineering and the entire spectrum of ICT.
The ‘Bayelsa Ignition Week 2018’ is being put together for Bayelsa State government by the Young Innovators of Nigeria (YIN) as part of a long term strategic framework by YIN and the Government of Bayelsa State to develop the ICT innovation ecosystem in the oil rich state and assist young Bayelsans in acquiring tech skills.
The theme for this year’s edition is : Human Capital And Youth Development In Bayelsa through ICT For Economic Restoration.
Bayelsa Ignition Week already enjoys the support of the Bayelsa State Government as the Host-State, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), amongst other stakeholders.
The event will be officially declared open by His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State,Rt Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson.
Some of the special guests set to grace the event include: Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Shittu Federal Ministry of Communications ,Dr. Vincent Olatunji Former Acting DG NITDA, Director NITDA, Ife Adebayo Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation, Jide Awe Chairman- Conferences, Nigerian Computer Society and a host of others.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a native of Bayelsa State
- Applicant(s) must be between the ages of 18 – 40 years at the time of submission
- Applicants must be able to attend the Bayelsa Ignition Week in person from Thursday, 1st March to Saturday, 3rd March.
Note: Startups applying must be in one of three stages:
- Stage 1(Idea Phase)
- Stage 2(Development Phase i.e startup has a working prototype)
- Stage 3(Growth Phase i.e startup has a product and existing customers)
