The date of the 13th edition of eLearning Africa has been revealed. This year’s event themed: ‘Uniting Africa’ will hold from 26 – 28 September, 2018 in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda at the Kigali Convention Centre.
The eLearning Africa is a unique event and Africa’s largest conference and exhibition on technology supported learning, training and skills development, eLearning Africa is a network of experts, professionals and investors, committed to the future of education in Africa.
The conference is being organised by ICWE GmbH and the Rwanda Convention Bureau under the patronage of the Rwandan Government. The Capital City of Kigali has become known for its ICT-based initiatives in a variety of sectors and services.
The city’s enthusiasm for new, tech-based solutions has led observers to refer to it as the “Innovation City of Africa”. Kigali is also one of Africa’s most attractive cities – eLearning Africa participants will be able to take advantage of its bustling streets, ridges, valleys, and lush hillsides, not to mention Rwanda’s world renowned Gorilla trekking tours, only a short journey away.
For 12 consecutive years, eLearning Africa has played host to16,228 participants from over 100 countries around the world, with over 85% coming from the African continent. More than 3,300 speakers have addressed the conference about every aspect of technology supported learning and skills development.
Also, the conference which is held in ENGLISH and FRENCH offers a programme that includes core dialogues, debates, discovery demos, knowledge exchange sessions, knowledge factories, networking meet-ups, panel talks, plenary sessions and poster presentations on specific topics and informal networking opportunities in which practitioners share their experiences, ideas, new information and perspectives.
It also features an EXHIBITION AREA, with leading international eLearning manufacturers, suppliers and service providers getting the chance to present their latest products and services.
There will also be WORKSHOPS conducted by leading experts and practitioners, preceding the event. These small, intensive sessions offer attendees a unique opportunity to acquire new skills and learn about the latest developments.
The event also plays host to an annual meeting of African ICT and Education ministers, who take part in a day-long discussion of key issues affecting education, training, skills and technology before the official opening of the main conference.
