South Africa-based investment firm REdimension Capital has officially announced the final close of its REdimension Real Estate Technology and Sustainability Fund I, securing total commitments exceeding R250 million (approximately $14.1 million). The fund is focused on investing in early-stage proptech startups that are innovating at the intersection of property, technology, and sustainability.

The second and final close brought in new strategic investors, including Hyprop Investments and RDC Property Group, while several existing backers increased their commitments. Among the fund’s original investors are prominent names such as Burstone Group, Growthpoint Properties, Rand Merchant Bank, Liberty Two Degrees, and Sphere Holdings. Collectively, these stakeholders manage a vast portfolio of over 750 commercial real estate assets, encompassing more than 12 million square meters of lettable space across diverse sectors.

This extensive ecosystem offers more than just capital, it provides portfolio companies with access to commercial partnerships, pilot programs, and strategic mentorship, helping startups accelerate their product-market fit and scale sustainably.

In a joint statement, REdimension Capital co-founders Peter Clark and Matthew Marshall expressed gratitude to their investors:

We are incredibly grateful to our investors for their trust and support. Their commitment has enabled us to position the fund as a leading catalyst for digital transformation in the property sector, and value creation for all stakeholders.

Since its initial close in July 2023, the fund has built a diverse and impactful portfolio of startups, including:

    • Admyt – A ticketless parking and mobility solution that streamlines access and payment in urban environments.
    • RE-Tec Solutions – A platform focused on tenant lifecycle management and property operations.
    • The Good People Data Company – A compliance and workflow automation platform offering data-as-a-service for onboarding and operational efficiency.
    • Rode Publications & Media – A comprehensive real estate analytics and market intelligence provider.
    • Roomking – A digital marketplace connecting landlords and tenants in the informal rental sector, addressing housing accessibility.

With this fund, REdimension Capital is positioning itself as a key player in shaping the future of real estate in Africa driving innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation across the built environment.
