    Raxio Group Unveils Ivory Coast’s First Tier III Data Centre

    Raxio Group has proudly announced the inauguration of its latest cutting-edge data centre, Raxio Côte d’Ivoire (CIV1), situated in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This new facility is a significant addition to Raxio’s portfolio, marking it as the fifth data centre and the third to be launched within the year 2024.

    CIV1 has achieved the prestigious Tier III certification from the Uptime Institute, a testament to its design and operational excellence. This certification ensures that Raxio Côte d’Ivoire is well-positioned to make a substantial impact on the nation’s burgeoning digital sector.

    As the first data centre in Côte d’Ivoire to receive Tier III certification, CIV1 is a carrier-neutral and cloud-neutral facility. It is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing data consumption and fostering local content development within the dynamic digital economy of Francophone West Africa.

    The data centre is outfitted with state-of-the-art technology and boasts the capacity to accommodate up to 800 racks, along with providing 3MW of IT power. This makes CIV1 an essential piece of infrastructure for the region, particularly for industries that demand secure and high-performance data storage solutions, such as the banking sector.

    The opening of CIV1 also signifies Raxio Group’s strategic entry into the West African market, establishing Abidjan as a key hub for the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), which encompasses nations like Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, and Senegal.

    Robert Mullins, the CEO of Raxio Group, highlighted the strategic importance of the Abidjan data centre, expressing that;

    The launch of our Abidjan data centre solidifies our presence in West Africa, a key area for our continued growth. Abidjan is an ideal location for businesses from across the region to collocate their mission-critical infrastructure in a secure, reliable environment. We are proud to play a part in Côte d’Ivoire’s digital progress and enhance its regional prominence.

    Located approximately 30 kilometers from the heart of Abidjan within the Village of Innovation and Technology (VITIB), CIV1 is designed with multiple power and fibre pathways to ensure consistent and uninterrupted service. The facility also features advanced redundant systems to adhere to the rigorous Tier III standards. Additionally, it houses the country’s Internet Exchange Point (CIVIX), which serves as a cost-effective platform for the interconnection of local and international internet traffic.
