Qoray, a Nigerian mobility company focused on electric vehicles (EVs), has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc to tackle one of the most significant barriers to EV adoption in the country: reliable after-sales service and infrastructure.
This partnership directly addresses widespread concerns among current and prospective EV owners about the availability of quality maintenance and support. Under the agreement, TotalEnergies will serve as the official after-sales service provider for Qoray’s four-wheeler electric vehicles. Selected TotalEnergies Quartz Auto Service centers across Nigeria will now offer diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repair services for Qoray EVs.
“One of the most pressing issues for EV adoption in Nigeria is access to dependable after-sales support,” said Olabanjo Alimi, CEO of Qoray. “With TotalEnergies, we’re expanding our support network and removing uncertainty. We’re not just delivering electric vehicles—we’re building a long-term ecosystem of trust, service, and reliability.”
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to sustainable mobility and energy innovation. TotalEnergies, a global energy company with a growing footprint in clean energy, sees this partnership as a natural extension of its mission.
“We understand the critical role that infrastructure and service play in enabling new technologies,” said Abdullahi Umar, General Manager, Retail and Cards at TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc. “By partnering with Qoray, we’re reaffirming our dedication to sustainable energy solutions and making electric mobility more practical and accessible for Nigerian consumers.”
While Nigeria’s EV market is still in its early stages, interest is growing steadily. Challenges such as limited charging infrastructure, high upfront costs, and lack of technical support have slowed adoption. However, recent shifts in government policy, rising environmental awareness, and the long-term cost benefits of EVs are creating momentum.
Qoray’s partnership with TotalEnergies is a strategic step toward building the support ecosystem necessary for widespread EV adoption. By integrating service infrastructure with vehicle deployment, the company aims to reduce friction for consumers and accelerate the transition to cleaner mobility solutions.
This initiative also aligns with broader efforts to position Nigeria as a regional leader in green transportation, while fostering innovation and investment in the country’s emerging EV sector.
