Nigerian based digital publishing platform, Publiseer, has launched its free book and music publishing services for author and artists.
According to the company, Publiseer is tailored to meet the growing needs of independent Nigerian authors and artists. It says its mission is to promote the creativity of Nigerians to the rest of the world.
The word ‘publiseer’ is a pun on the word ‘publisher’. Publiseer also means ‘publish’ in Afrikaans, a language of Southern Africa.
So what do Authors and Artists get from Publiseer?
Publiseer for Authors
Publiseer publishes books written by young and budding Nigerians on its store, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Google Play Books, Apple iBooks, Kobo, Scribd, Playster, OverDrive, and everywhere books are sold online.
Authors get the following for free:
- A professional book cover
- A unique ISBN number
- Worldwide book distribution
- Press release drafting and distribution
- Standard book formatting
- EPUB file conversion for easy distribution
Publiseer for Artists
Publiseer publishes songs recorded by young and budding Nigerians on its store, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play Music, Apple iTunes, Deezer, Shazam, Claromusica, Tidal, and everywhere music is sold online.
Artists get the following for free:
- A professional cover art
- A unique UPC number
- Worldwide music distribution
- Press release drafting and distribution
- Quality music mastering
- FLAC file conversion for easy distribution
Publiseer says their authors and artists still retain the publishing rights to their work, and can republish their work elsewhere. Their authors and artists receive a dollar for every sale of their work, and get paid when the royalty accrued reaches a $20 threshold.
“Finally got what I’ve been searching for,” said Trinity Josef, one of the company’s 29 clients. Publiseer claims that the only thing their authors and artists have to do is to write a book or record a song, and they will do the rest for them.
Though Publiseer sees Bookbaby and CDBaby playing in the same space, its competitive edge is that it publish books and music for free; Bookbaby and CDBaby charge a hefty fee for publishing.
At the moment, Publiseer is only open to Nigerian authors and artists living in Nigeria. However it hopes to expand its footprint in the very near future.

Interesting.. The Artists and the Author can now enjoy the free book & music. I also like the fact that its mission is to promote the creativity of Nigerians to the rest of the world. This is the best ever.
Nice one. No one has any excuse again not to have his/her Intellectual property beamed to the rest of the world. On this platform, piracy has no foothold, so there’s nothing to be afraid of. Get down to writing and composing your songs and have it published on Publiseer for the world to see!
