In an apparent move to re-energize his social media image following a growing slide in his electoral fortunes as well as a series of scandals involving Mr. Reno Omokri, President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Obi Asika as his new Social Media Strategist.
Obi Asika, known in music circles as the founder of defunct Storm 360 and a director of COSON is currently one of the major forces behind Social Media Week Lagos.
According to Sahara Reporters, Mr Reno Omokri has been embroiled in some controversial issues which includes his alleged involvement in the “Wendell Simlin” saga where reports were circulated on the Internet that claimed to have found a link between former Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, and Islamist terror group Boko Haram.
Sahara Reporters also claims that presidential spokesman Reuben Abati confirmed Mr. Asika’s appointment to take charge of the president’s social media coverage.
