With Periscope, followers will be getting instant access to what is happening in Abuja and probably some behind the scene footages that conventional TV crews might not have access to. Already the account has live streamed President Buhari in the Aso residence preparing to head to Eagle’s Square.
The President using very new social media networks to extend his reach does not come as a surprise as social media is said to have been a major factor in winning people over during the Presidential campaign. With Periscope recently launched on Android, this is the perfect time to make use of the recently launched service as Nigerians favour the Android OS to iOS.
To follow the inauguration, download Periscope (via Google Play or App Store) and follow the @GMBOffice account swiping to the tab on the far right and clicking the search icon.
