Potcast Productions secures pre-seed investment to expand podcasting in Egypt

Potcast Productions, an Egypt-based company specializing in podcast production, has recently obtained an undisclosed amount of pre-seed investment to bolster its content creation capabilities, enhance its marketing strategies, and expedite the launch of new podcast series.

Established in 2020 by entrepreneur Islam Adel, Potcast has developed a portfolio of 15 unique podcast programs designed to appeal to a variety of audiences. In just the past six months, the company has achieved a remarkable milestone of seven million listens and accumulated over 600,000 hours of content consumption.

The pre-seed funding was led by Innovative Media Productions (IMP), the media entity responsible for bringing the popular “Shark Tank” television series to Egypt. IMP had previously invested in Potcast Productions in April. The investment round also includes contributions from the prominent investor Ahmed Tarek Khalil.

The injection of funds will be directed towards enhancing Potcast’s capacity to produce high-quality content, scaling its marketing initiatives, and creating new podcast series to meet the demands of an increasingly diverse listener base. The investment will also support Potcast’s ambition to deliver premium audio experiences, both online and offline, thereby reinforcing its status as a pioneer in the realm of audio-first content production.

Islam Adel expressed his gratitude for the continued support from IMP and Ahmed Tarek Khalil, viewing it as an endorsement of the team’s commitment and hard work. He emphasized that this backing not only affirms Potcast’s vision to revolutionize podcasting in the region but also propels the company to new heights as it strives to innovate and broaden its audience engagement.
