How to Post 360 Photos to Facebook

If you’ve ever encountered an interactive image on your Facebook feed instructing you to move your phone around to view the entire image and you are most likely curious on how you may upload such photo to your Facebook page, here is a way to create and post a 360-degree photo to Facebook. Don’t worry, you don’t need a dedicated 360 camera for this to create such photos. All you would need is just a smartphone… this feature actually works with panoramic photos taken on a phone.

For iPhone users, simply launch your camera app and capture a panorama. Any handset newer than an iPhone 4s or a tablet newer than an iPad mini 2 will work. For Android, since there seem to be a ton of Android devices out there, I’ll suggest you download Google’s cardboard camera app to take panorama shots. Samsung galaxy owners can try the surround shot mode in the default camera app which does practically the same thing.

Upload the image to facebook and it automatically turns into an interactive image. Tilt and rotate your phone to explore or use the cursor on your desktop to explore different parts of the photo.

Note that the panorama needs to be a minimum of a 100 degrees or wider for Facebook to be able to display it as a 360-degree photo.
