For many buyers in the diaspora, even before the COVID-19, it has been difficult to buy items in bulk online, and it is frustrating for many buyers.
With a slow uptake by business in e-commerce, the majority of African suppliers remain inaccessible and difficult to reach from an e-commerce perspective.
However, an e-commerce startup, Plendify is eliminating this challenge by introducing a robust platform where buyers worldwide and African suppliers can do business making use of either local or international payments.
The Plendify B2B Marketplace allows buyers around the world and African diaspora to purchase products in bulk or retail quantities conveniently and securely from local suppliers, wholesalers, and manufacturers in Ghana (and very soon in other African countries as they expand).
The Plendify B2B Marketplace enables buyers globally and African in diaspora to buy products in retail or bulk quantities securely and conveniently from local suppliers, manufacturers, and wholesalers in Ghana (and soon expand to other African countries).
The trio of Beau Sackey, CEO, (Ghana), Michael Manirakza, COO, (Rwanda), and Roger Vandomme (Ivory Coast) established the startup in Toronto, Canada in 2018.
The co-founders had complementary skill sets across finance, business, and technology, and data science and wanted to build a scalable and impactful business in Africa to support the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The platform was launched in November 2020 with more than 1,000 sign-up suppliers including Ghanaian brands like Bel Aqua, Tika Mall, and Vitamilk.
This provides local buyers a wide variety of choices of high-quality products in major categories like Homeware & Appliances, Food &Beverage, and Building & Construction.
They continue to include household and major brands and also providing small and medium-sized suppliers support to’ build online storefronts on their trusted platforms.
This relatively new platform allows Africans in the diaspora to enjoy access to hard-to-reach supplies.
Buyers can now make payments with their international cards and track their local deliveries directly on the website or the app from wherever they are around the world.
The Plendify Client Success team is ready to provide the best customer service through chat or their toll-free international line.
Plendify aims to link with other African countries soon so that buyers around the world can start doing business with African brands around the continent.
Plendify B2B Marketplace is available on all platforms including Apple, The Web, and Android.
