Google is introducing new features for Pixel users, which includes allowing Pixel 8 Pro users to utilize the Thermometer app for taking body temperature via a forehead scan. Users can save these readings to their Fitbit profiles for better health analysis.
Initially, Google stated that the Thermometer app could be used to measure the temperature of items such as a baby’s milk bottle or coffee. Now, after necessary approvals from the FDA, users can employ the app for measuring their own body temperature.
In addition, “Circle to Search,” a recently unveiled feature, is being launched for Pixel 8 and 8 Pro users. This feature, designed for a more natural engagement with Google Search, enables users to initiate a search anywhere on their device using gestures like circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping. This could be particularly handy when users want to ask questions when interacting with video or image content on social media applications.
Another addition is the AI-based Magic Compose technology available to Pixel 8 and 8 Pro users. With this, users can rewrite drafts in various styles or more professionally and concisely.
Also, Google’s Photomoji feature, which allows users to turn their favorite photos into reaction emojis using AI, will be extended to Pixel 3a and all other newer Pixels. Users can choose any photo and create a “photomoji” to use in their conversations.
According to Google, the rollout of these new features began today.
