Piaget has just unveiled a new entry level watch, the POLO S which is a stainless steel watch with a diameter of 42mm. The watch features a cushion-shaped dial within the outer round case. This shape blends two of the brands most iconic looks: the original 1979 Piguet Polo round watch, and the cushion-shaped Emperador Coussin. Two models have been made available with several dial colors. All models have a stamped horizontal pinstripe guilloche. The automatic version is powered by the calibre 1110P while the chronograph version is powered by the calibre 1160P. Both movements are based on the existing calibres 800P and 880p respectively. All five of the models are equipped with a sapphire caseback for viewing the movement. While the automatci version is offered with a white, slate-gray or blue dial, the Chronograph is only offered with a silvered dial or a stunning blue dial.
The Piaget Polo S is inspired by the original legendary Piaget Polo watch, with the “S” standing for a host of concepts ranging from sporty to shaped, signature and steel, of course. It also stands for society – underscoring Piaget’s commitment to the arts, film, and cultural social worlds.
Retails prices for the automatic and chronograph version are $9,350 and $12,400 respectively. It will be available from Piaget Boutiques and retailers from September 2016.
